Another super week!

This week, Firecrest have been learning to tell the time to the nearest 5 minutes and the nearest minute. We have also been learning about roman numerals.
In English, we have focused on learning about non-fiction texts features (headings, sub headings, contents page, glossary and bold print). The children identified some of these features from newspapers and the book ‘What it’s like to be a bird’. We also looked at facts and opinions and the children gave their own example of a fact and an opinion.
In topic, we have started learning about recycling and discussed new vocabulary; ‘resources’, ‘waste’, and ‘budget’.
The YR5 children had an exciting and challenging week learning about how to stay safe whilst on a bike.
