Reading – Well Being Week

The Moles Class pupils went to Nursery this week, reading the books of their choice to the Nursery children. Lots of fun for the Nursery children to watch the Moles Class pupils telling the stories from the books.


Investigate Reflection – Science lesson

The Moles class pupils were doing an investigation on reflections, testing every objects that does reflection, shiny objects like teapot, silver spoon, mirror, television (switched off) etc


Animals Drawings – Art lesson

The Moles pupils drew an Owl with a pencil using the shapes, circle, oval, rectangle, triangle etc. They drew the shapes, like oval for the face, circles for the eyes, rectangle for the main body and triangle for the head, beak and ears, and then drew in the lines, patterns, etc making the picture look real as the photo of the owl.


Dictionary challenge

Moles class have started a new book. Towards the end of the lesson they were given around 5 minutes to think of, or use a dictionary to find, as many words as they could that had the pattern ‘an’ in. Excellent concentration and focus from everyone. They found a lot of words in the time given!


Biomes

We learned what biomes are today, Tundra, Subarctic, Warm Temperate, Subtropical, Tropical. Asked which one the UK is, they answered Warm Temperate as there are four seasons here. They cut out pictures of the nature of different areas on the of the Atlas. and the descriptions of each biome.


Natural Year of Reading

The Moles went to the school library today. They chosen three books each. They learnt how to do the barcoding to take the books out of the library records, they will then learn how to scan the barcode to book the books back in next week. The Moles class pupils will take one book out of 3 home for them to read. They will change the books every week to learn how the library works.

St Saviour’s Church Festive trees

The Moles class went to St Saviour’s church in St Albans to decorate a Christmas Tree, there are about 40 christmas trees in the church, we get to decorate one of them. The Moles class made some decorations last week, and the other classes pupils drew pictures of themselves on a heart shape cardboard for us to hang them. St Albans Verulamium

The Moles class went on a trip to the Verulamium to see the Ancient Roman fallen buildings, part of a wall and a large mosaic flooring art.
