English revising noun phrases and writing dialogue

In English this week we have worked on writing short passages including a description of a setting, using noun phrases (adjective, adjective, noun). Some of the children were given a pile of adjectives and had to try and sort them into categories, thinking about what you might use those adjectives to describe. The class also had two lessons where we practiced creating and writing their own dialogue based on a picture of two characters, making sure we followed the rules: use of speech marks in the right place and and putting a new speaker on a new line. The children are getting fairly confident in laying out dialogue now and enjoyed creating their own dialogue then acting them out with a friend.
