Gruesome Stories and Other Events
It has been another busy week in Cuckoos class! We returned to school on Tuesday and edited our videos from our gruesome story. We independently filmed and edited our work and enjoyed watching each other’s (although some were too gruesome to watch without covering our eyes). Once we completed this, we started our next story ‘The House That Was Filled With Ghosts’. We have been doing a lot of prediction work and had to visualise a house with 1000 rooms. The story will continue next week…
In Maths, we have been ordering decimals and converting thousandths to fractions and decimals. The whole class worked exceptionally well this week in Maths and gained an additional 5 minutes of golden time on Friday.
In Science, we looked at the history of space explorers and how humans have been looking at the night’s sky as far back as recorded during early civilisation.
We have also learnt about the importance of VE (Victory in Europe) Day and why this was such an important moment for so many people across Europe 80 years ago.
Reminder: Children who are participating in the Bikeability course next week must remember their bike helmets. If you have said that you will bring your own bike from home, please arrive on Monday morning with you bike and staff will direct you to where to securely put it. If your child does not have a bike helmet, then they will not be permitted to participate.
On 21st May we have a trip to Kew Gardens. This will be consolidating our learning on the South American Rainforest. You should have received a letter and the payment link is now open on Arbor.
