Sun and Science
It has been another busy week in Cuckoos class. We have continued reading our spooky fairy tales in English and have been creating a plan to retell them using the green screens. In Maths we have been converting between hundreths and thousandths to decimals. All pupils in Cuckoos class have worked exceptionally hard in their English and Maths lessons!
On Wednesday we visited the Science Museum. We took the train into London and enjoyed the Wonder Lab (a hands on science experience) as well as looking at the space exibition which will be linking to our new Science topic. It was a brilliant day had by all!
As this beautiful weather is continuing, please remember to send in a hat and sunglasses (if you wish) for playtime and lunchtime. Please also apply sun cream in the morning before school and ensure that your child has a water bottle.
For some of Cuckoos class, they are participating in the Bikability course the week of 12th May. Please remember to send a helmet in with your child for this. If they do not have a helmet then they cannot take part. If your child is bringing in their own bike, please bring bikes into school and store them in school for the week. Please let Mrs Lee know if you are bringing a bike so that she can show you where to store them.
Please watch the following videos for the bikeability course. There are subtitles on the youtube video but please let Mrs Mtanda know if you want it provided in BSL. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wEzY1qFWXz8 . Please ensure that your child’s bike helmet fits them correctly before the start of the course.
On Thursday 8th May it is VE day, which marks the end of WW2. Children can wear their own clothes to school in the colour of their national flag on this day.
