Super week
This week in science the children made their own switch for a complete circuit. The children successful made a complete circuit last week but realised there wasn’t a switch. They designed their own switch and used in a circuit to see if it worked. We discussed reasons for switches as they help keep us safe. Also, they save money on the electricity bill one student said.
In English, the children worked hard on writing their own poems for the Harvest Festival. I was proud of their ideas and what they suggested linked to Harvest.
Hopefully you managed to come to the Harvest Festival and saw how well they did. 😊
In Religious Education, the children have been learning about Judaism and how they celebrate Shabbat. Shabbat is known as the Jewish Day of Rest from sunset on Friday until sunset on Saturday each week. The children thought of activities that could be done during Shabbat and what activities couldn’t. Activities such as playing board games, going on a walk, reading and going to the synagogue were suggested.
The Year 6 classes had a great time baking shabbat bread on Wednesday! I think they enjoyed eating it even more. Hopefully they shared some when they got home.
I hope you have a lovely half term – two weeks this October half term! Please enjoy, rest and stay safe!
