Introduction
An effective relationship between pupil, parent and school is integral to a successful educational experience. We endeavour to develop strong partnerships with parents to ensure a positive start to your child’s school life or a smooth transition from their previous school.
We recognise the need for an ongoing dialogue with parents ensuring that pupil progress and attendance are monitored regularly and any concerns addressed as soon as possible. Your child’s form tutor or class teacher is the first point of contact for all pastoral care issues and parents are encouraged to keep in touch with them and raise any concerns, no matter how trivial they may seem.
There a formal points of contact with parents throughout the year. Parent consultation evenings are held early in the academic year to allow parents to meet their child’s class teacher or form tutor and in the case of older pupils their subject specialist teachers. Statement annual review meetings are generally held towards the end of the academic year prior to which a written report is circulated containing a record of achievement for each subject.
We also hope that parents will attend many of the informal events such as Christmas plays, Heath House family BBQs and Harvest Festivals. Parents of younger children may choose to join the Wednesday “Sign and Play” sessions and it is hoped as many of you as possible with join the parent/carers sign language club on Monday mornings
We look forward to working with you so that your child’s potential can be realized.
