Introduction to the BSL Centre
For many years Heathlands has been a recognised centre of Excellence in the field of education of Deaf children with a reputation for outstanding and innovative practice. In 2009 provision was extended with the opening of our BSL training Centre by Digby, Lord Jones of Birmingham Kt.
The BSL Centre is designed and equipped with superb ICT facilities and a wide range of other resources to support Deaf awareness and the learning of BSL. Its’s establishment means Heathlands’ expertise, experience and facilities can be shared with our partner schools and the community. We now are one of the biggest and most successful providers of BSL courses in the area.
Heathlands BSL Centre is an active participant in developments around the teaching of sign language. The services we offer are continually being extended to meet the increasing demand from our community partners. We welcome your ideas and suggestions on how we can develop further and look forward to seeing you on one of our courses soon.
