Building Castles
This week, Foxes and Otters worked together to build castles out of recyclables following our trip last week. They showed amazing creativity and exceptional teamwork skills!

In Art, the children created their own painting based on Paul Klee’s ‘The Castle and the Sun’. Rachel the musician came into the Moles class to show us her Bassoon instrument and she played it. The pupils enjoyed watching and listened to the sounds.

The Moles class pupils drew pictures of clothes, food, jewellery, paper etc on blank trading cards. They learnt how to trade food, clothes, etc with each other and learnt how ancient Egyptians traded their stock, as they didn’t have money.
The children have been learning about Motte and Bailey castles ready for their trip to Berkhamsted Castle next week (Thursday 30th April) They have been working together to build their own castles using different resources.
This week, we have been learning about money! Students have learned about the value of each coin, how to calculate totals using 1p, 2p, 5p, 10p, and how to create totals using these coins up to the value of £1. Students have been enjoying learning these concepts with the fake coins.
