The pupils were learning about the digestive system as part of their Science lesson, and they really enjoyed the hands-on activity. The class learned how to make flatbreads similar to those eaten by ancient Egyptian people. They enjoyed making them during their D&T lesson, and the activity also connects well with their History lessons.
Happy Father’s Day! I hope you all had a lovely weekend celebrating. Students in Foxes class were working hard on Friday to finish their special crafts. They looked fantastic!
In English, the children have been reading the story ‘Oliver’s Fruit Salad’. They made their own fruit salad together, and will be writing the instructions this week in English. All the children thought is was delicious!
The Mole and Badger classes went on a school trip to Whipsnade Zoo. We saw lots of animals – lions, a rhino, rabbits, pigs, and a baby elephant that was just born on Monday. The children also enjoyed the indoor soft play area and ended the day with a delicious ice cream.
This week, Foxes have been investigating where food comes from and what the climate is like in different countries. They practised using an atlas to locate specific countries, then used a heat map to workout the climate of that country. Fantastic work Foxes!
Otters and Foxes class worked together to find out where fruit comes from. The children learnt to use and Atlas and the Index page to locate the country. They then looked at real fruit to find the country of origin on the packaging.
That’s No Pen Day, when pupils and teachers are not allowed to use pens or pencils for the whole day. I taught them hieroglyphs for their history lesson, and I expected them to create patterns of their names in hieroglyphs using natural objects. The whole school is riding exercise bikes for charity! Our big goal is 1,000 miles. Well done, everyone! Moles class enjoyed riding the exercise biked in school, we completed around 25 km to help! Keep going!
