year 4 science living things
This week in science year 4 have been looking at how scientists classify animals. They have each drawn a section of a bee to look at it in more detail and they have put each section together to create the full bee.

This morning Robins class were starting to think about different ways to start a story. They looked at different opening sentences from well known fairytales and had to guess which story they were from, then explain why they knew it was that story.
They then used structural learning blocks to write simple sentences which could start a story from a given picture. They the had a challenge to add an adverb to their sentence (can you spot the adverb they added from their photos?). This is the start of a work in progress and will continue tomorrow.
(Things you could practice at home: think about where sometime is and write or sign using prepositions ‘on a chair, in the bath, under the table’)
Welcome back after the holiday. We hope you have had a good break and we are looking forward to seeing the children’s holiday diaries and them telling us what they have been up to. The topic for this term is “All Around us/ You can make a difference”. This term the children will have swimming on Tuesdays and PE on Thursday afternoons. As the weather gets warmer children may wear summer dresses or shorts should they wish to.
