In their PSHE lesson, the pupils explored what it means to be a good friend. They created a ‘recipe’ for the qualities they value in a friend and enjoyed designing and inventing their own unique drink.
This week, Hoopoes Class continued to revise previous English topics (clauses and formal/informal language) and Maths (fractions, decimals and percentages). Additionally, they wrote their recipes and cooked their own dishes based on the Eatwell Plate guide, and built their own electrical circuits, fixing and correcting faulty example circuits. They also drew the plans of their classroom, using squared paper.
Please remember that, on Thursday 8th May, children can wear their own clothes to school in the colour of their national flag.
This morning Robins class were starting to think about different ways to start a story. They looked at different opening sentences from well known fairytales and had to guess which story they were from, then explain why they knew it was that story.
They then used structural learning blocks to write simple sentences which could start a story from a given picture. They the had a challenge to add an adverb to their sentence (can you spot the adverb they added from their photos?). This is the start of a work in progress and will continue tomorrow.
(Things you could practice at home: think about where sometime is and write or sign using prepositions ‘on a chair, in the bath, under the table’)
