Similes sort of week
This week the children have been learning about similes and metaphors – hopefully the children we be able to explain what these are if you ask them.
They wrote sentences using similes comparing their classmates and staff to different things. They all laughed at ‘Miss Cornwell eats like a _____’.
In maths, the children have been estimating and rounding, which has been challenging for them but they have tried very hard. For example 252 rounded to the nearest ten is 250 because 2 is closer to 250 than 260.
In science, the children made a simple circuit independently and were able to draw this using scientific symbols. We also went searching for appliances that uses mains electricity or batteries. This is linked to the homework.
The children LOVED Celtic Harmony and will share photos next week 🙂
Next week on Wednesday is parents evening just as a reminder.
