What a super but quick week!
This week has flown by!
Continuing our story in English ‘Milo imagines’, we have been learning about stereotyping as it linked in with the story. In the story Milo imagines how people might be based on what they look like. It led to a great discussion about stereotyping. I brought some things in such as nail varnish, lipstick, vaseline, cardigan, basketball to discuss if we thought males or females would own them. We also discussed how judging someone by their appearance isn’t right or fair.
The children also started writing their own stories based on the story. For example ‘Sophie imagines’. Hopefully they can share this with you.
In science, we have been learning about light and new vocabulary ‘light sources’, ‘periscope’ and ‘ray diagram’. We started thinking about how light travels.
In topic, we have been learning about counties. It was interesting as some of the children lived in different counties so was lovely for them to find their county on a map and show each other. We have also been learning about the rise of the Roman Empire.
In computing we’ve been learning about networks and the differences between the internet and the World Wide Web. We have a special Visit from Mr Paul who showed the children an old router which they couldn’t believe had cost around £800!
Have a lovely weekend everyone. Stay dry. 🙂
