Summer Week 2 learning (28 April to 2 May 2025)

This week, Hoopoes Class continued to revise previous English topics (clauses and formal/informal language) and Maths (fractions, decimals and percentages). Additionally, they wrote their recipes and cooked their own dishes based on the Eatwell Plate guide, and built their own electrical circuits, fixing and correcting faulty example circuits. They also drew the plans of their classroom, using squared paper.

On Thursday 8th May, please remember that children can wear their own clothes to school in the colour of their national flag.


First week back at school! (25/04/2025)

Hoopoes Class have started to slowly revise and recap their English and Maths learning (Word classes, word families, punctuation, place value, ordering and sequencing). They are doing really well! They have also learned about a variety of food (including carbohydrates, dairy, protein and fruits/vegetables).

Important information – e-safety.
It has come to our attention that over the holiday some children have been watching an internet channel called “I show speed” or “ishowspeed”. This site shows some content that is racist, sexist and sexually explicit and not appropriate for children.
Please make sure your children are not able to access this. The children are at an age and stage where it is difficult for them to make judgements about what is and isn’t appropriate and they are very easily influenced by what they see. They therefore need adults to be monitoring what they are watching to ensure their safety.

Welcome to the Summer Term!

Welcome back after the holiday. We hope you have had a good break and we are looking forward to seeing the children’s learning this term. The topic for this term is “All Around us/ You can make a difference”, and we will be doing some revision of previous English and Maths learning. As the weather gets warmer children may wear summer dresses or shorts should they wish to.
