RE – Special Foods in Hinduism and Sikhism
This week in RE we have been learning about foods that are not allowed in Hinduism and Sikhism as well as foods that are special in both religions.
We have learnt about the Sikh langar which is a community kitchen serving vegetarian food and we learnt how some Hindus do not eat garlic or onion.
We then created a (mild) Vegetarian Curry making sure it is safe for Hindus and Sikhs to eat (vegetarian and not including garlic and onion.
All children tried the curry and most children enjoyed so much they asked for more!
