English this week.
In English we are using the wordless book ‘Journey’ and this week have been using the pictures to write our own text. On Monday to Wednesday the class learnt how to use questions to structure what they wrote and also revised dialogue using speech marks and putting a new speaker on a new line. Today ( Thursday) we have been learning about using a range of more complicated prepositions in sentences. First there were beanbags hidden around the classroom and Miss Head wrote instructions for children to find them. E.g. look inside the large paper tube behind the white board. We then looked at a picture from the book and had to think of an object and describe where it was, without saying what it was. The children wrote for their peers who had to guess what the object was, from its position. A good game to play at home might be to hide things, them write where they are and see if people can find them from what you have written.
