Second week back!
This week in English we have been reading our new book ‘The Matchbox Diary’ where a grandfather is showing his great granddaughter his very unique diary. Hopefully, the children have share with you how the grandfather recorded his memories from when he was growing up.
In maths we have started learning about length using CM, M and KM. Particularly looking at equivalent metres to kilometres.
In science we have been learning about circulation. We looked at the human body organs to see what they could remember from year 4 when they may have learnt about the digestive system. Vocabulary looked at ‘heart’ ‘lungs’ ‘kidneys’ ‘liver’ ‘blood vessels’, ‘veins’ and ‘red blood cells’.
We also looked at the social and hierarchy of the Ancient Egyptians. The children chose a job they would do in they lived in the Ancient Egyptian times.
